What is LED High Bay Light?
As their name implies, LED high bay lights commonly illuminate spaces with high ceilings. They are perfect for and widely used in large indoor spaces like warehouses, garages, workshops, factories, etc. that require well-crafted lighting sources.
LED High Bay Lights Provide Many Advantages
Saving Energy
Energy efficiency is one of the most important considerations for businesses and corporations to make. Luckily, one of the main advantages of Lepro LED UFO high bay lights is its amazing energy efficiency! The wattages of Lepro UFO LED high bay lighting, for example, range from 100 to 240 watts. When compared to a standard HID high bay fixture—ranging from 250 to 1000 watts—their efficiency means you can expect to save up to an incredible 70% on your electricity expenditure!
Lower Maintenance Costs
Lepro LED UFO high bay lights are extremely long-lasting and sturdy, made to withstand temperatures as high as 104°F. With an average lifespan of up to 27.4 years, even when used for 8 hours a day at 77° Fahrenheit, you will never have to worry about purchasing new lights again or spending money on upkeep. Of course, Lepro LED UFO high bay lights are UL, FCC, and DLC 5.1 approved and come with a 5-year warranty for exceptional peace of mind.
Cooler Temperature
LEDs are well-known for producing little to no heat when turned on. In addition to the potential financial benefits of lower cooling costs, lower temperatures are an obvious safety benefit that the UFO high bay lights can provide.
What is the Difference Between a High Bay and Low Bay Light?
The main difference is the ceiling height! High bay lights are commonly applied to ceilings ranging from 15 feet to approximately 45 feet. Meanwhile, LED low bay lights are more suitable for ceilings of 15 feet and under. Regardless of ceiling height or the size of the space you need to illuminate, LED high bay lights are made as powerful light sources that can brighten up any area.
What Types of LED High Bay Lights Should I Choose?
UFO and linear fixtures are two major types of high bay lights. It will depend on your area to light as to what type to choose. The differences are as follow:
1.1 Controllable beam angle perfect for any working area.
1.2 Easy to install.
1.3 Cool appearance.
2.1 Rectangular shape makes it easier to light a rectangular working area, aisle, or hallway.
2.2 Wider beam angel.
2.3 No spotlight effect.
How Much Power Do High Bay Lights Use?
According to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements, illumination of common working areas should be kept away from workers at a distance of at least 10 feet. Common working areas may include machine shops, electrical equipment rooms, carpentry shops, lofts, tool rooms and warehouses. Thus, the suggested power and mounting height of the Lepro high bay for common working areas are as follows:
Suggested Mounting Height of Lepro High Bay
Product | Suggested Mounting Height |
100W UFO LED High Bay | 12-18ft |
150W UFO LED High Bay | 14-22ft |
240W UFO LED High Bay | 19-28ft |
165W Linear LED High Bay | 16-24ft |
220W Linear LED High Bay | 18-28ft |
If you are interested in more information, please kindly download our manual and locate the image “ILLUMINANCE AT A DISTANCE”. Here, you can find advice on illuminance level at a distance. You can also find the lighting area based on the beam angle.
Please note that the beam angle refers to the angle between the two directions for which the intensity is 50% of the maximum intensity, as measured on a plane through the nominal beam centerline. So, areas outside the beam angle require lighting as well, but the intensity can be lower than 50% of maximum intensity at the center of the high bay light.
